Behind the Scenes Video Interview with Tina Pulley, Fitness and Nutrition Coaching Instructor at Wellspring School of Allied Health

For Tina Pulley, a fitness and nutrition coaching instructor at WellSpring School of Allied Health, education isn’t exclusive to the classroom. Health and wellness are incorporated in all aspects of people’s everyday lives. A school that provides in-depth understanding and the ability to apply that knowledge outside the academic setting is what sets WellSpring apart. However, to land a job in the field, it’s important to have the right training and education. Pulley explained, “You get so much hands-on experience here at WellSpring. We’ll learn a muscle and then we’ll go work out and use the muscle that you just learned, so it brings that practical component.”

In the nutrition and personal training programs at WellSpring, classes are taught on a wide array of topics from anatomy and biomechanics to nutritional analysis and coaching. This way, students not only learn about how and why foods and muscles work in certain ways, but also how to help advise others about these topics.

Once students at WellSpring complete both the nutrition and personal training programs, they will leave the school with more than just knowledge, they leave with a degree. WellSpring’s Associate of Occupational Science degree earns students the title of both a personal trainer and a health and wellness coach. WellSpring graduates are then available to sit for two different certifications from the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). WellSpring students pass these exams, on the first try, at an average of rate of 85 percent. In comparison, only 67 percent of all other students pass these exams.

Education isn’t just about what grade someone can earn on a test, it’s about learning as much as possible. That’s why WellSpring School of Allied Health provides in-depth knowledge and practical application to make sure students fully understand the human body and performance. The experience students gain at WellSpring is what separates them from the rest of the personal training field after graduation and prepares them to positively impact countless lives in the future.
