In Celebration of Jourdan Albee

WellSpring School of Allied Health mourns the loss of a dear family member. Jourdan Albee, a massage therapy graduate at WellSpring was tragically struck down at the young age of 20 in a traffic accident. We would like to celebrate Jourdan’s life; she was a warm, happy and giving person who will be missed greatly.

Jourdan’s classmates have offered a lot of insight into her life and we would like to share here. While growing up, Jourdan had a disorder which affected her legs. Due to this, she was in and out of Children’s Mercy with multiple surgeries. In spite of her struggles, Jourdan was always happy and didn’t let anything get her down. Classmate Raleigh Graham said that she always had a smile on her face and she was great to be around. Jourdan also loved animals and was always talking about her cat.

Due to her experience with Children’s Mercy, Jourdan was inspired to give back and had planned to use her massage therapy training with children. She dreamed of opening a pediatric massage therapy practice or to work directly at Children’s Mercy. She also wanted to provide a service to the Ronald McDonald house, where her parents spent a large amount of time while she was in the hospital.

The WellSpring School of Allied Health staff and students will miss Jourdan greatly. You will live on in our memories.

Friends may call the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha after 10:00 AM Friday, May 13th where the family will meet from 6:00 to 8:00 PM that evening.
