For Brandy Carter, a medical assisting student at WellSpring, the process of phlebotomy gives her a rush that she can’t find anywhere else. Carter said, “My favorite memory is phlebotomy because it’s a challenge. When I can get that vein and draw that blood, it’s an adrenaline rush.”

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, medical assisting is growing at a rate of 23 percent, which is over three times the national average of just seven percent!
